The Irish Rowing Championships are over for another year. The 2023 version was an extraordinary and memorable one, with the organisers pushing the event into the early morning on the Saturday and Sunday to avoid the attack of the unseasonal wind. This was a challenge; it was a major success. There were glitches – the lack of dependable results on the main Rowing Ireland website amongst them. Attached, courtesy of irishrowingarchives.com, are a bank of the major statistics from the event.
University of Limerick won the most pots; Skibbereen stay on top overall – just five wins short of 200. And yes, the crews were fast.
Our RowReport picture shows Skibbereen on their way to beating UL in the men’s intermediate coxed four.
