
Ireland’s Sanita Puspure will go into action at twenty to two Irish time on Friday morning – the first of the Irish rowers in action at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. She has a straightforward heat and three go directly to the quarter-finals.
Exactly an hour later (2.40 am), the men’s double of Ronan Byrne and Philip Doyle will make their bow in their heat.
Saturday is a busy day with all four remaining Ireland crews racing in heats: the pair of Aileen Crowley and Monika Dukarska (2.10), the lightweight double of Aoife Casey and Margaret Cremen (2.50), the lightweight men’s double of Fintan McCarthy and Paul O’Donovan (3.30) and the women’s four [Aifric Keogh, Eimear Lambe, Fiona Murtagh and Emily Hegarty] going into action at 4.0 am Irish time, midday in Tokyo.
